Due to the out-of-favor nature of some of the companies we invest in, we also focus on a company’s “financial cushion” should a particular company’s prospects deteriorate from our expectations. Our valuation process includes a review of the company’s financial condition, historical and forecasted earnings, and cash flow. Our research importantly focuses on future prospects as well as historical financial results.

We believe that investor psychology plays an important role in stock valuation. Thus, we believe the price paid for a stock is as important in the investment equation as is the underlying company’s business prospects.
